Why this matters
First aid coverage is a legal obligation, not a nice-to-have.
Organizations that don't have certified first aid responders on staff are exposed to liability, regulatory non-compliance, and risk. Alberta OHS regulations require adequate first aid coverage based on workplace size and hazard classification.

Who should complete this training?
Standard First Aid and CPR is required for any workplace that must maintain a first aid attendant under Alberta OHS regulations. This includes corporate offices, construction sites, healthcare facilities, schools, nonprofits, and any organization that employs more than a minimum number of workers depending on hazard level. If you are unsure whether your organization requires certified first aiders, ask us, we will help you determine what applies.
Learning outcomes
What you will learn.
- Recognize a medical emergency and activate emergency services correctly.
- Perform adult, child, and infant CPR.
- Use an AED safely and effectively.
- Manage choking in adults, children, and infants.
- Control bleeding, treat shock, and manage wounds.
- Respond to a range of medical emergencies including heart attacks, strokes, diabetic emergencies, and allergic reactions.
- Perform spinal immobilization and patient assessment.

Renewal
Every three years. We coordinate recertification scheduling and will contact you before your certification lapses.
